Body piercing in Westerly, RI
Irish Rose Tattoo does body piercing on East Ave in Westerly, RI, with Rayna Lundvall using single-use needles and implant-grade titanium. Navel is $55, eyebrow $50 and nipple $60 each, plus jewelry from $35. Navel and eyebrow are open to ages 16 and 17 with a parent and both IDs; nipple piercing is 18 and over only.
Body piercings ask more of the healing process than ears do. The tissue moves when you bend, sit, sleep and dress, and clothing rubs against it all day. That is why placement and jewelry choice matter more here, and why Rayna takes her time marking before anything happens. Walk in any shop day, Tuesday to Saturday, noon to 8; no booking form needed.
Every body piercing at Irish Rose is done with a single-use sterile needle, never a gun, and starts on ASTM F-136 implant-grade titanium or 14k solid gold, threadless and internally polished. Titanium jewelry starts at $35 and gold at $90. The service price covers the piercing itself; the jewelry is separate so you choose the metal.
For anything not listed here, ask Rayna at the counter. She will tell you whether she does it, what it costs within the usual $40 to $70 range, and whether your anatomy suits it.
Navel, nipple and eyebrow body piercing
A navel piercing goes through the upper rim of the navel and starts on a curved barbell. It is $55 plus jewelry and heals over six to twelve months. The most common trouble is pressure from waistbands, so plan the first few months around lower-rise clothes if you can.
Nipple piercings are $60 each, 18 and over only, and heal over six to twelve months. They start on straight barbells with a little extra length for swelling. Wear a soft, clean layer over them for the first weeks and expect some tenderness for longer than you think.
An eyebrow piercing is $50 plus jewelry and sits vertically through the outer end of the brow on a short curved barbell. It is quick, and the placement is about the shape of your brow and how it moves when you frown or raise it, which is what Rayna checks in the mirror before marking.
Healing body piercings well
Clean with sterile saline, keep your hands off it otherwise, and stay out of the ocean, pools and hot tubs for at least four weeks. Body piercings swell more than ear piercings, so the free downsize check at six to eight weeks is important; a bar that is too long catches on clothes and drags the piercing off angle. The full routine is in the piercing aftercare guide, and the metal and end options are on the jewelry page. Body piercing questions
Can everyone get a navel piercing?
Not everyone has the anatomy for a standard navel piercing. Rayna checks the rim of your navel while you stand and sit, and if it collapses when you sit, she will suggest a different placement or tell you it is not a good idea.
Do I have to do both nipples?
No. Each nipple is $60 plus jewelry, so you can do one or both. Both on the same day heal on the same timeline, which many people prefer.
How long does a navel piercing take to heal?
Six to twelve months. It often looks fine much sooner, but the inside of the channel is still healing. Keep high-waisted clothes and belts off it and do not change the jewelry yourself until Rayna says it is ready.
Can I go to the beach after a body piercing?
Not in the water. Stay out of the ocean, pools and hot tubs for at least four weeks after any piercing, and longer is better for navels and nipples.
