Tattoo touch-ups in Westerly, RI
Tattoo touch-ups at Irish Rose Tattoo in Westerly, RI are free within 90 days of your session when you followed the aftercare, on any piece Tony Asian or Zak Sadloski did here. Hands, feet and fingers are excluded. After 90 days, touch-ups start at $80, and work from other shops is quoted after we see photos.
Even a well-done tattoo can heal with a thin spot. Skin does not take ink evenly everywhere, and a patch that flaked off early or a line that settled lighter than the rest is normal, not a sign that something went wrong. A touch-up is a short return visit to go back over those areas once the tattoo has fully healed.
At Irish Rose, touch-ups on our own work are free for 90 days from your session as long as you followed the aftercare. That covers both artists: Tony’s fine-line and script, and Zak’s traditional, black and grey and cover-ups. The visit is usually short, and the artist looks at it in daylight before anything else happens.
After 90 days, or on hands, feet and fingers at any point, touch-ups start at the $80 shop minimum and are quoted flat like everything else.
When to book tattoo touch-ups
Wait until the tattoo is completely healed. The surface closes in two to four weeks, but the skin underneath keeps settling, and a spot that looks patchy at week two often evens out by week five. Coming back somewhere after the four-week mark leaves plenty of time inside the free window.
To book, use the booking form, choose touch-up and pick your artist, or choose any artist if you are not sure. Attach a daylight photo of the spot you are worried about. We reply within two business days. Re-read the tattoo aftercare guide too, since the touch-up heals the same way the original did.
Touch-ups on work from other shops
We touch up tattoos done elsewhere, but they are quoted after we see photos, never free. Send a clear, straight-on daylight photo with something for scale. Sometimes a few faded lines just need a pass. Sometimes the original lines are blurred enough that going over them would make it worse, and the honest answer is a rework or a cover-up. Zak handles most of those, and the full price list is on the pricing page.
Fine lines and touch-ups
Fine-line tattoos need touch-ups a little more often than bold work, simply because there is less ink in each line to begin with. Tony sizes and spaces his lines to reduce that, but if one letter of a script piece healed lighter than the rest, the free touch-up is exactly what it is for.

Tattoo touch-up questions
What counts as following the aftercare?
Washing gently, keeping it lightly moisturized, not picking or scratching the flakes, and staying out of the ocean, pools and hot tubs for four weeks. If a spot dropped out anyway, that is what the free touch-up is for.
When does the 90 days start?
On the date of your tattoo session. Wait until the piece is fully healed before you come in, which is usually four weeks or more, so the artist sees the real result and not peeling skin.
Why are hands, feet and fingers excluded?
That skin regenerates fast and takes constant friction, so ink drops out there no matter how well it was done or how carefully you healed it. We still tattoo those spots, but touch-ups on them are paid, from $80.
Can a touch-up fix a blowout?
No. A blowout is ink that spread under the skin, and going over it adds more ink rather than removing any. A darker rework or a cover-up can hide it; send a photo and we will tell you which.
